Job Description
Onsite in Irving, TX, the Visual Design Manager leads visual direction across engagements, spanning client delivery, business development, and people and practice development.
Responsibilities
- Lead visual design direction on engagements from concept to delivery, ensuring design quality, aesthetic cohesion, and timely progress.
- Translate abstract briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear, compelling visual languages through conceptual thinking.
- Define and defend a high standard of visual craft guiding brand identities, design systems, motion, typography, illustration, and digital experiences.
- Balance visionary thinking with hands-on involvement, shaping key design decisions and producing high-quality output with your team.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production while demonstrating how AI enhances creativity rather than replaces it.
- Serve as a leading creative voice in client discussions, sharing visual perspectives and translating design rationale into strategic narratives under pressure.
- Document AI-driven changes to visual design workflows and quantify impact on delivery quality and team performance to evolve the practice.
- Contribute to proposals, develop case studies, and translate project learnings into thought leadership that showcases visual design capabilities.
- Identify and shape new opportunities with existing clients, recognizing when brand, design system, or experience challenges invite deeper engagement, and partner with account leads to craft a compelling point of view.
- Manage, support, and mentor team members to grow their visual craft, confidence, and independence while navigating challenges.
- Be an engaged member of the Visual Design craft, sharing methods, references, and project outcomes to advance the discipline.
Requirements

- 4+ years leading visual design engagements end-to-end from concepting and visual strategy through production-ready delivery.

- 4+ years producing and directing high-fidelity visual work with pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specifications.
- 3+ years directly managing or coaching visual designers, developing contributors into stronger, more independent practitioners.
- 3+ years working in agile and cross-functional environments with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists to deliver cohesive experiences.
- 3+ years delivering high-caliber visual design shipped at scale, solving complex product or brand challenges and driving measurable impact across customer experiences and business goals.
- 3+ years making ground visual design decisions with a deep understanding of user experience and guiding intuitive product flows while expressing a coherent brand point of view.
- 3+ years building and contributing to scalable design systems ensuring visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
- 3+ years embedding AI tools and workflows into visual design practices from concept generation and mood-boarding to rapid iteration and modeling AI-enabled workflows.
- 3+ years hands-on experience with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Claude Design, and related motion or illustration tools, including AI design tools.
- 3+ years facilitating and presenting visual strategy and design rationale to senior client stakeholders, guiding creative decisions under pressure.
- Fluency in adjacent areas like brand strategy, service design, or content design, or demonstrated self-directed expansion of skills.
- Experience contributing to practice-level initiatives, including ways of working, craft assets, onboarding, or community forums.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in visual design, visual communications, graphic design, fine art, or related creative field.
