UX Web Designer - AI Trainer

DataAnnotation is hiring an UX Web Designer - AI Trainer to help evaluate frontier AI models through real visual design tasks. This contract role is designed for flexibility: choose which projects you want to take on, work on your own schedule, and complete assignments from your own computer at home.

Compensation is paid hourly at $75 to $125 USD per hour, with bonus rates available on some projects. Payment is made via PayPal, and PayPal handles any currency conversions from USD.

What you’ll do

• Create challenging, realistic design briefs using your professional expertise.
• Run those briefs through frontier AI design tools and evaluate outputs against the standard you would apply to a colleague.
• Compare two model versions using identical prompts and assets, then determine which performed better and document where each fell short.
• Critique model-generated work across interfaces, mockups, layouts, slides, infographics, illustrations, and motion.
• Identify and flag concrete failures with evidence, including alignment and spacing, content overflow or cutoff, typography, visual hierarchy, SVG and illustration quality, ignored assets, and off-brief interpretation.
• Contribute across software and interactive work, office and presentation design, technical illustration, graphic design, and new media.

What you bring

• Fluency in English at native or bilingual level.
• Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design.
• Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, interaction design, and user flow.
• Ability to articulate why a design fails, not just that it does.
• Comfort working with AI design tools, or the ability to pick them up quickly.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required (current, in progress, or completed).
