Job Description

System One is seeking a UI/UX Web Designer to support the FBI’s Training Division. This onsite role requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret, and will be performed primarily at Stafford, VA with one day per week at Quantico, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop user interfaces for custom web applications.
  • Collaborate with the project manager, business analysts, and developers to create an intuitive, cohesive UI across the application.
  • Advocate for users by reducing friction and ensuring accessibility requirements are met.
  • Verify that products adhere to Accessibility and Section 508 standards.
  • Work with multiple teams in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience designing and developing web applications.
  • Experience delivering engaging, user-friendly interfaces that conform to accessibility standards; portfolio of modern interaction designs for web applications required.
  • Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Skilled with professional design tools such as Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.
  • Understanding of Responsive Web Design principles.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of translating functional requirements into web-based solutions using advanced technologies.

Job Experience

  • 5+ years of proven experience designing and developing web applications.
  • Experience creating engaging and user-friendly interfaces that meet accessibility standards, with a portfolio of modern interaction designs for web applications.
  • Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Proficiency using professional design tools such as Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, etc.
  • Understanding of Responsive Web Design principles.
  • Experience working and designing in an Agile environment.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of translating functional requirements into web-based solutions using advanced technologies.
  • Clearance: Active Secret with the ability to obtain Top Secret.

Other Desired Skills

  • Experience designing with client-rich technologies such as AngularJS, Bootstrap, JQuery, or Knockout is a plus.
  • Experience working with .NET-based applications and MS Visual Studio.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a similar field, or significant software design experience.
