Job Description

UI/UX Web Designer at Blacksmith Agency leads the full design lifecycle for websites, translating client requests into interactive digital experiences in collaboration with developers.

Responsibilities

  • Present homepage concepts to clients and guide them to a final decision
  • Art direct design output, providing direction, edits, and visual curation
  • Apply current web design best practices to ensure solid craft
  • Incorporate client feedback and manage the revision process
  • Oversee the full design workflow from concept to finalized layouts for mobile and desktop, including design creation, conceptualization, wireframes or storyboards
  • Leverage design trends and modern branding to craft and evolve strong brand narratives for visually compelling digital products
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail to achieve pixel-perfect results
  • Translate user research and insights into disruptive websites and features, designing workflows and detailed interactions to realize them and inform design and product strategy
  • Clearly communicate design purpose and rationale to internal teams and clients
  • Create cutting-edge designs for clients across diverse industries and company sizes from SMBs to Enterprise
  • Advocate user-centered design and articulate its value to teammates, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with strategy and business development to identify new business opportunities and drive creative in sales pursuits
  • Lead high-end projects with strong visual skills and collaborative, feedback-driven leadership to motivate the team
  • Welcome thoughtful critique from the team and clients and iterate until a polished final product is achieved
  • Meet project needs creatively to ensure high-quality design work aligned with the client’s business strategy and mission
  • Maintain excellent organization of all files, layers, and folders
  • Collaborate with the President and department leaders through each project stage

Requirements

  • 5+ years of website design experience
  • Proficiency with Figma
  • Portfolio showcasing elegant past web design projects
  • Motion design experience is a plus
  • Prototyping experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
