UI/UX Lead — Design System

Empass Healthcare Inc is looking for a UI/UX Lead to own and evolve a shared design system across a large, multi-segment healthcare platform. This role operates as the single design authority, partnering closely with PMs and Engineering Leads to keep patterns and UI behaviors consistent before work ships.

Role Overview

You will maintain and expand Empass’s shared design system, including tokens, components, and patterns, used across verticals. With approximately ~700 screens spanning the platform today, the goal is to prevent design drift and ensure key UI decisions stay aligned across every segment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the shared design system (tokens, components, and patterns) used across all verticals
• Review vertical-specific design work produced by the floating UI/UX Designers to ensure consistency before it ships
• Partner directly with all 6 PMs and Engineering Leads
• Prevent naming and pattern drift that can be costly to unwind later, including issues like inconsistent gating treatments

What You’ll Own

• Ownership of the design system, tokens, and patterns shared across the ~700-screen platform
• Consistency across navigation patterns, gating UI, and status indicators so the shared system remains stable across segments without per-vertical drift
• Serving as the single design authority for the work that the 6 PMs and Engineering Leads deliver against

Requirements

• 6+ years of product design experience
• At least 2 years owning a design system at scale
• Experience designing for compliance-heavy or highly regulated software (healthcare or fintech) is a strong plus
• Comfort acting as the single design authority across a large, multi-team platform

Compensation

• Base Salary: USD 130,000–150,000 per year
• Variable: 10% annual bonus target
• OTE Cap: $154,000
