Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a seasoned UI/UX Designer who holds a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to help shape secure, user-centered front-end experiences across web and mobile. This on-site role in McLean, Virginia emphasizes collaboration with software developers and product teams to translate complex requirements into accessible, effective interfaces.

Based at the customer site in McLean, VA, the role centers on crafting user-focused front-end UX while complying with stringent security standards. The position blends interface design, prototyping, and thorough documentation to deliver usable solutions across web and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with software developers and product teams to implement accessible front-end design modifications
  • Develop and promote standards for usability and accessibility excellence across projects
  • Design interfaces, create prototypes, and produce detailed specifications for web and mobile
  • Generate conceptual interaction artifacts, including wireframes, sitemaps, diagrams, feature lists, process maps, mock-ups, and working prototypes
  • Translate user needs, product requirements, and technical constraints into thoughtful UX solutions

Requirements

  • Education: BA/BS in Information Technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, or work experience
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end technologies
  • Ability to create detailed UX assets including wireframes, user flows, and visual specifications
  • Experience working within a cross-functional software development environment
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and usability standards
  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Location: McLean, VA on Customer Site
  • US Citizenship Required

Salary and Benefit Information

Salary range: The likely salary range for this position is $164,382 - $212,750 per year. This is not a guarantee of compensation; final pay is determined by experience, location, and contractual requirements and could fall outside this range. Benefits are described above as part of the total rewards package.
