UI/UX Designer
Job Description
Design experiences that help teams make faster, clearer decisions. Westfield Insurance is seeking a UI/UX Designer to create user-centric Power BI dashboards and reports. This onsite role in Berkeley Heights, NJ focuses on translating reporting needs into interactive, visually compelling experiences, with continuous improvement driven by user feedback.
What you’ll do
- Work with business users to uncover reporting and visualization needs, then turn those inputs into clear UI directions.
- Design interactive, user-centric Power BI dashboards and reports with strong visual presentation.
- Produce wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Maintain consistency, usability, and accessibility across dashboards.
- Collaborate with global development teams to implement designs and help deliver production-ready reporting.
- Continuously refine dashboard layouts and data visualizations based on user feedback.
What you’ll bring
- A degree from a 4-year university in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (must-have). A Master’s degree in a STEM area is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience in UI/UX design, specifically with a focus on Power BI dashboards and reporting.
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices.
- Experience collaborating with business users and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate complex data and requirements into clear, actionable visuals.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain experience is preferred, but not required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- An energetic, entrepreneurial attitude.
- Ability to work onsite in the office at least 4 days per week.
Tools and additional strengths
You’ll design with Power BI, and you may also use or compare other platforms such as Tableau and Qlik. Familiarity with other visualization tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of agile project methodologies is a plus.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts within Power BI is a plus.
