Job Description

Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A) is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to deliver workflow-driven design support for an ecosystem of big data applications. In a collaborative environment, you will connect complex business needs to end-to-end user experiences and ensure your understanding carries through to final, approved designs.

This hybrid role is based in the Annapolis Junction area, with approved onsite time of at least 2-3 days per week. The position supports locations including Annapolis Junction, MD; Washington, DC; or Reston, VA.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide critical workflow-driven designs across an ecosystem of big data apps in a collaborative environment.
  • Understand and document how applications work, then carry that understanding consistently through the final approved designs to minimize gaps that could otherwise lead developers to make independent UX decisions during implementation.
  • Translate complex business requirements into cohesive, end-to-end user experiences, working closely with product owners, stakeholders, and developers.

What You Bring

  • TS/SCI with active CI Polygraph.
  • Experience documenting user workflows and converting them into wireframes and final UI designs.
  • Ability to design complete, interconnected experiences, including both administrative functionality and end-user workflows.
  • Comfort moving from low-fidelity concepts through high-fidelity, stakeholder-approved designs.
  • Experience designing complex, workflow-driven enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe XD, Illustrator, and Photoshop on NIPR.
  • 18 years of UI/UX Design or UI/UX Development experience in a highly related field, with similar scope and responsibilities.
  • Education substitutions: a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for 4 years of experience, and a Master’s degree may substitute for 6 years of experience.

  • Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • SCSS/SASS
  • Java Web, NodeJS
  • AWS
  • GitLab
  • Agile/Scrum
  • Web Sockets

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Styling: experience implementing SCSS/SASS and micro-animations for user feedback.
  • Back-end awareness: experience with Java Web, NodeJS, or AWS environments.
  • Agile/DevOps: experience managing code via GitLab and working in an Agile/Scrum framework.
  • Real-time data: experience using Web Sockets for live data updates.

Salary

USD 184,000 - 237,600 per year.

Benefits

  • Generous company match to your 401(k).
  • Industry-leading tuition assistance program that pays your institution directly.

  • Up to $10,000 gift match when you support your favorite nonprofit organizations.
