Via Logic LLC is hiring a UI/UX and Design Analyst to support mission-critical systems through user-centered design and research. The position combines sprint planning, usability testing, prototyping, and ongoing iteration while working closely with users, engineers, and stakeholders in an environment that values accessibility and compliance.

USD 90,000 - 110,000 per year

Role Summary

The UI/UX and Design Analyst supports the end-to-end design of web-based and client-server experiences, from concept through delivery. Key activities include design sprint planning, usability testing, accessibility-focused UI/UX design, and analysis of user data to guide decisions that align user needs with client objectives. The role also includes the evaluation of screen prototypes and refinement of designs based on feedback to improve product usability and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct design sprints, end-user research, usability testing, and design reviews.
  • Analyze user data to inform design decisions, supporting user-friendly experiences and alignment with client objectives.
  • Apply specialized expertise in graphical user interface (GUI) design, including screen layouts and functionality for client-server applications (such as Microsoft Windows presentation screens).
  • Create designs that are intuitive, efficient, and accessible to improve user experiences.
  • Conduct studies, testing, and evaluations of screen prototypes for functionality, ease of use, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Iterate on designs based on feedback to refine and perfect the user interface.
  • Design user experiences for new and existing web-based applications from concept to completion.
  • Develop workflows and experiences that are intuitive, effective, and accessible for end users.
  • Communicate ideas effectively using low and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders and incorporate feedback to support final delivery.
  • Create short-term and long-term UI/UX visions to maintain consistency across the user experience.
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to implement approved designs.
  • May mentor and supervise team members, providing guidance on best practices in UI/UX design and user research.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Currently reside within the United States
  • Have lived within the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain a government Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a UI/UX designer, with a strong portfolio covering web-based and client-server application design
  • Experience conducting usability testing and user research
  • Experience in the government sector, particularly within DHS, is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, including the ability to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with DevSecOps environments
  • Experience with accessibility standards and regulations, particularly in government projects
  • Current Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain such clearance

How We Work

  • Client-facing role with virtual collaboration and occasional customer interaction.
  • Team members are expected to actively engage using Slack, Teams, email, Monday.com, and other collaboration tools during standard business hours.
  • Availability for meetings and collaboration between 9AM–5PM EST is expected.
  • Cameras on during virtual meetings is part of the collaboration culture.
