Staff Product Designer
Job Description
Intuit’s QuickBooks Capital team is hiring a Staff Product Designer in Mountain View to design lending product features and end-to-end flows across credit and access points.
Responsibilities
- Own design for features and flows within a lending product area, covering problem framing, launch, and iteration.
- Define where and how credit surfaces across existing customer workflows including invoices, payroll, banking, and cash flow.
- Set a high bar for craft through clarity, simplicity, and language customers understand.
- Partner with product and data science to shape experiments, including hypothesis building and interpretation of results.
- Use data fluency across activation, application, approval, and drop-off to guide what to build next.
- Evaluate what tests can and cannot prove; choose qualitative research when it is the fastest path to an answer.
- Collaborate across product teams so lending offerings complement each other instead of competing for attention.
- Contribute to lending patterns and the design system to support consistent, fast shipping.
- Present design rationale to product and engineering partners with clear recommendations rather than a set of options.
- Raise quality through critique, shared standards, and cross-team feedback.
- Use AI in your own workflow to prototype, explore, and pressure-test ideas, while maintaining a point of view on where AI helps versus where it introduces risk in a regulated lending context.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of product design experience, preferably on large-scale consumer or small business products.
- Experience shipping end-to-end features and flows from problem framing through launch and iteration.
- Strong interaction and visual design craft, plus fluency with design systems.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions, identify opportunities, and measure outcomes.
- Experience designing for experimentation: shaping tests, interpreting results, and iterating based on learnings.
- Ability to communicate through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping, with a narrative that brings stakeholders along.
- A portfolio demonstrating user-centered design principles and craft.
- Demonstrated collaboration with Design, Product Management, and Engineering partners.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools into your design workflow to improve quality, speed, or depth.
- Lending, payments, or other financial services experience is a plus.
