Job Description

ServiceNow’s Product Design team is hiring a Sr. Staff Product Designer to help shape the Identity Security Platform & Systems experience across cross-product initiatives. This role operates across two horizons: near-term integration and scaling of Veza’s design system, and long-term definition of an AI-native design practice as production shifts toward AI-generated UI.

Role overview

In this onsite position in Santa Clara, CA, you will lead end-to-end design from discovery through high-fidelity delivery. The scope includes AI product surfaces, design systems, and strategic investments, with a focus on UX, interaction design, and visual quality for AI/ML and generative AI experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design for Identity Security cross-product platform initiatives, covering discovery through high-fidelity delivery across AI product surfaces, design systems, and strategic investments.
  • Define and evolve design systems and frameworks that scale across multiple product domains, establishing token structures, component definitions, and usage guidelines as a source of truth.
  • Drive UX, interaction design, and visual quality for AI/ML platform experiences, including generative AI surfaces, intelligent workflows, and agentic interfaces.
  • Prototype and validate concepts using AI-native tools and generative workflows, shifting between deterministic and probabilistic interface paradigms as needed.
  • Architect and evolve the design system to support an AI-generated-UI future, including data pipelines and automation for design-to-code at enterprise scale.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to align direction, unblock decisions, and ensure design intent is delivered in production.
  • Own and continuously raise the quality bar for design processes across Platform and AI product pods.

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating thinking, tradeoffs, and impact beyond final screens.
  • Strong visual craft with attention to typography, spacing, and polish.
  • Fluency across the full design spectrum, from user journeys and UX strategy to micro-interactions and pixel-level execution.
  • Experience simplifying complex enterprise B2B products and turning sophisticated problems into experiences users enjoy.
  • Experience with large enterprise SaaS products involving complex data, workflow, or platform challenges in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience designing AI-assisted workflows and platform features with an emphasis on making AI useful and trustworthy.
  • Professional communication habits, including proactive updates, early risk flagging, and keeping dependent teams unblocked.
  • Fluency in AI-native design process, including prototyping in code or generative tools and iterating on non-deterministic outputs as AI reshapes design work.
  • Experience shaping what a product or design practice should look like in the future, not only improving existing systems.
  • Hands-on experience building or scaling design systems using token pipelines, Figma variables, or design-to-code tooling at enterprise scale.
  • Engineering and product partnership mindset, seeing engineering handoff as the start of implementation and staying involved through delivery.
  • BA/BS degree or higher in Design, Design Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle for web and/or software applications.
  • Experience in user experience design or industry experience (corporate, software, web, or agency).
