Senior Engineer, UI/UX

Senior UI/UX Designer role at Baxter in Round Lake, IL, focused on designing safe, intuitive interfaces for medical devices and digital health solutions within a regulated development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end experiences across discovery to delivery for web, touch, and embedded interfaces.
• Convey design intent using whiteboarding, user stories, workflows, wireframes, and visual builds from low-fidelity prototypes to final designs.
• Perform competitive benchmarking and user research to guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with Human Factors to translate research insights into design improvements.
• Work with Product and Engineering to define scope and deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to and apply design systems across products.
• Participate in reviews and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, or related field, plus 3+ years of UX/Product Design experience.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design and journey/service thinking.
• Experience partnering with research teams, including Human Factors.
• Proficiency in user research, interaction design, information architecture, and usability testing.
• Ability to balance input from cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Healthcare or regulated-industry experience; exposure to Agile environments is preferred.
