Job Description

Capital One’s Experience Design team is hiring a Senior Associate, Product Designer to help shape products through strong design craft and a deep understanding of customers and business goals. This is an individual contributor role where you will co-create solutions to complex problems while working closely with cross-functional partners.

This hybrid position is based in Plano, TX. If you are not located in the Dallas, TX area, relocation to Plano, TX is required. The salary range for this role is USD 101,100 - 115,400 per year, with potential performance-based incentive compensation that may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).

What You’ll Do

  • Use your product design craft and your understanding of customers and the business to co-create innovative solutions for complex problems.
  • Apply expertise across interaction, visual, and service design to raise the quality and maturity of the design practice at Capital One.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional partners, use appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems to create artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
  • Ground customer-centered decisions in data, research insights, and creative problem-solving.
  • Understand your product, processes, and partner goals to identify and bridge gaps between customer-centered solutions and business needs.
  • Partner with your team and others to gather feedback, understand technology and data capabilities, and account for emerging technologies and technical limitations.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners, identify collaboration opportunities, incorporate diverse perspectives, and strengthen trust across teams.
  • Present your work to diverse audiences using a human-centered approach, including meaningful evidence and clear articulation of design decisions.

Core Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in a Product Design role.
  • At least 2 years of experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with an established design system.
  • Experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners.
  • Experience working in heavily regulated, data-heavy problem spaces.
