Product Designer, Soft Goods (Home)
Job Description
Target is seeking a Product Designer, Soft Goods (Home) to drive Owned Brand categories in soft decor, with emphasis on Bedding and Toss Pillow, on a hybrid schedule in Minneapolis.
Responsibilities
- Support Owned Brand product brands and categories to meet overall design strategy and merchant objectives.
- Collaborate across brands within the soft goods portfolio under design leadership.
- Manage workload with timely communication to internal and external partners, track deliverables and deadlines, review samples, and prepare for milestone presentations.
- Drive concepts through all development stages, including research, material and technique selection, print, pattern and color application, and creation of silhouettes and fabrications.
- Translate ideas into product direction using CAD and hand sketches, with emphasis on Bedding and Toss Pillow, while also supporting Bath, Window and Rugs as needed.
- Foster brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the division to maintain continuity, creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering, Technical Development and Sourcing to ideate and ensure designs meet quality requirements, vendor capabilities, and pricing goals.
- This role requires in-office work four days per week from the Downtown MN campus.
Requirements
- 4-year Degree in Design, with Product Design or Textile Design preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant product development experience, with home textiles preferred.
- Strong aptitude for trend, design and print/pattern; demonstrated high taste level, creativity, and propensity for innovation.
- Ability to translate business objectives into creative, original and cost‑effective design solutions.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience assimilating product feedback.
- Highly collaborative and capable of thriving in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

About You
