Product Designer, Principal Associate Level
Job Description
Capital One is seeking a Product Designer at Principal Associate Level to join the Experience Design team in New York, onsite. You will help craft memorable product experiences and co-create innovative solutions with cross-functional partners. The role centers on collaboration, human-centered design, and a strong portfolio. This is a full-time, onsite position with a salary range of USD 143,200 to 163,500 per year, plus health benefits, financial benefits, and performance-based incentive compensation.
Responsibilities
- Blend your design craft with insight into customer needs and business goals to co-create innovative solutions for complex problems.
- Leverage deep expertise across interaction, visual, and service design to elevate Capital One's design practice; with cross-functional partners, use tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems to produce artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Champion the customer through the design process, applying critical-thinking that weighs data, research insights, scalability, tech constraints, and feedback.
- Understand and apply business and customer strategy, facilitate design activities with the team and partners, and balance customer needs with business goals for harmonious outcomes.
- Actively explore tech and data capabilities and emerging technologies to inform work, identify opportunities, and help the team navigate technical limitations.
- Build and nurture relationships with partners, expand your network, value diverse perspectives, and collaborate to influence outcomes, break down silos, and gain alignment.
- Present work to audiences across levels and functions using a human-centered approach that integrates design frameworks, data, and research insights to clearly articulate insights and design decisions.
- Showcase a compelling portfolio that demonstrates your process, results, and impact.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 3 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
- At least 4 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 4 years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
- At least 4 years of experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners
- At least 4 years of experience working with an established design system
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
