Product Designer, AVP
Job Description
State Street is seeking a Senior Product Designer, AVP, to lead design efforts for major private markets initiatives. The role partners closely with product and engineering to craft simple, intuitive experiences while contributing to design systems and facilitating customer workshops. This onsite position in Burlington, MA offers a salary range of $80,000 to $140,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead a user centered design process from concept through release, measurement, and iteration to deliver simple, impactful product experiences that influence key metrics.
- Collaborate with users, product, and engineering to identify problem spaces, brainstorm solutions, account for technical constraints, and ship work efficiently.
- Communicate design work across the organization to gather feedback, inspire teams, and advance conversations about design excellence.
- Contribute to the growth, organization, and maintenance of the design system and component library.
- Engage directly with customers to understand needs and lead virtual or in person workshops as appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience delivering impactful product design; fintech, data platform, or BI tool experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Collaborative approach to design execution.
- Bias for action and adaptability to varying resource levels.
- Portfolio demonstrating a track record and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to give and receive design critique effectively.
- Interest in thriving in a high growth environment.
- Experience with user research as part of product discovery.
- Experience working within a component library system with a critical eye for maintenance and improvement.
- Excitement for fintech products and an understanding of how modern enterprise design differs from legacy enterprise design.
- Private markets experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel for client engagements up to 20 percent, including international travel.
