Product Designer
Job Description
thredUP Inc is hiring a Product Designer to support high impact, high visibility work across the core marketplace experience.
Responsibilities
- Partner with product management to refine product strategy and project goals
- Brainstorm ideas, define customer workflows, prototype interactions, and support research and launches
- Own and deliver design work for product initiatives from insight to strategy to launch across native apps and mobile web
- Conduct user research to identify user needs and pain points
- Run usability testing, gather feedback, and use it to improve designs
- Generate creative product ideas beyond established patterns
- Collaborate with brand, content, and creative partners so the thredUP brand is reflected throughout the product experience
- Work with engineering to implement meaningful, crafted user experiences
- Partner with a team of product designers and UX researchers to improve internal processes and raise quality and innovation
- Ship highly crafted, joyful experiences aligned with the mission of inspiring a new generation of consumers to think secondhand first
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a digital product designer shipping products on cross functional teams
- A strong portfolio of shipped products demonstrating craftsmanship and user-centered, insights-driven design
- Fluency with diagramming, wireframing, and prototyping tools such as Figma and AI native tools such as Claude Code
- Experience prototyping in code and shipping code into production (ideally)
- Experience designing across platforms with an understanding of technical constraints for web, iOS, and Android
- Experience working solo or with user research teams on user testing, mixed methods research, and usability evaluations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams and stakeholders
- Exposure collaborating with business and data science stakeholders; ability to develop metrics that quantify design impact
- Self-motivated, agile mindset; able to prioritize and manage trade-offs to meet deadlines
- Growth mindset with a low-ego approach and interest in learning from the team
- Curiosity and future thinking, including interest in emerging technology such as AI and how it can improve customer experience and workflows
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design, psychology, computer science, or a related field

Compensation
- USD 160,000 - 185,000 per year base pay
- Base pay depends on skills, qualifications, experience, and location
