Job Description

Palantir Technologies offers a collaborative, impact driven environment for product designers. In a hybrid setting based in New York, NY, this role blends interaction and visual design, user research, prototyping, and close collaboration with engineers to build data driven software. The position supports varied design work across the product lifecycle and across government, commercial, and philanthropic contexts. The compensation package includes a salary range of $130,000 to $135,000 per year, with potential for additional compensation such as restricted stock units, a sign on bonus, and other incentives.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end to end design process at every stage, shaping early concepts, defining workflows and micro interactions, and delivering crisp visual design. Proficiency with mockup and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Framer, Principle, Figma, and InVision is valuable.
  • Conduct informal user research, visiting customer offices to interview users and learn from those you serve. Combine qualitative methods with product usage metrics to inform decisions.
  • Prototype designs to communicate decisions and validate approaches using tools like Principle or Framer, or other preferred methods.
  • Partner with engineers and product teams to realize design ideas, treating engineers as collaborators to prototype and build products.
  • Maintain awareness of frontend capabilities and how software interfaces are built; familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript is appreciated to enable effective collaboration.

Requirements

  • Active US Security clearance or eligibility and willingness to obtain a US Security clearance.
  • A portfolio demonstrating at least one software interface design project. If parts of your portfolio are password protected, please include your portfolio password under 'Additional Information' when applying.
