Job Description

DesignPac is seeking a seasoned Product Designer to lead the development of our products from concept through prototype to mass production in our Melrose Park, IL on-site studio. This role blends hands-on design work with leadership and cross-functional collaboration, requiring initiative, organizational rigor, and the ability to work independently or with teams to shape projects and talent. The position offers a salary range of USD 55,000 - 65,000 per year and values candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, plus a degree in Design, Art, Fashion, or a related field as a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on design and product development support across the lifecycle of assigned projects.
  • Assist in producing detailed product specifications, digital renderings, and presentation materials while meeting established timelines and production goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Designers, Merchandising, Sourcing, Packaging, and Graphics teams to move products from concept to execution, maintaining accuracy, organization, and consistency.
  • Support preparations for presentations, photo shoots, trade shows, and shipments, while monitoring competitive offerings and researching market trends to inform design decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years in product design, development, or a related creative field.
  • A degree in Design, Art, Fashion, or related field is a plus.
  • Solid grounding in design principles, color theory, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic familiarity with product or technical design processes.
  • Ability to communicate ideas through sketches and digital renderings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet timelines and production goals.
  • Openness to feedback and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Experience in décor, giftware, gourmet foods, or floral products.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliable work ethic and dependability.
