Product Designer
Job Description
Health Care Logistics is seeking a Product Designer to translate customer specifications into manufacturable products while steering design projects from concept through delivery. This onsite role in Circleville, Ohio, emphasizes material selection, aesthetics, and functional solutions, with close collaboration across design, machining, and fabrication teams to bring new products to life.
Responsibilities
- Develop and design manufactured products according to customer specifications.
- Oversee design projects from inception to completion.
- Provide input on product design, aesthetics, and functional solutions for products.
- Be responsible for material selection and recommendations, and work through debugging issues with new products.
- Use Solidworks Professional and Corel Draw for design work.
- Work independently and in a collaborative, innovative environment.
- Design parts, complete drawings, and prepare manufacturing drawings and part breakdowns.
- Complete customer quote requests and calculate manufacturing costs.
- Convert design files for production and monitor revisions and updates.
- Collaborate with other designers, equipment operators, and fabricators to develop items with manufacturing intent.
- Consider production processes to minimize features and parts when applicable.
- Maintain communication with customers and internal personnel regarding product design, cost, production time requirements, etc.
- Assist with production when needed and provide hands-on support with part assembly.
- Review assembly requirements and hardware considerations; implement design revisions.
Requirements
- Proficiency with Solidworks Professional and Corel Draw design software
- Ability to work independently
- High School Diploma or GED
- Related experience and/or training a plus
- Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to learn quickly
- Ability to follow both written and verbal directions
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and innovative environment
- Experience in using standard machine shop equipment and tools
- Experience in fabrication of Plastic and Metal parts
- Intermediate math and measurement skills
