Product Designer
Job Description
Product Designer on Meta's Standalone Apps Team, onsite in Menlo Park, CA, with a yearly salary range of USD 201,000 to 278,000, responsible for end-to-end design of major product areas, translating strategy into flows and visual language, prototyping, and collaborating with product and engineering to ship and establish design patterns.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for key product areas, including problem framing, exploring directions, and delivering high-quality, shippable UI that aligns with product goals.
- Translate product strategy into clear user flows, interaction patterns, and a cohesive visual language across surfaces and states.
- Create rapid prototypes and test ideas quickly to validate concepts and inform decisions.
- Ground design decisions in user research and data to drive meaningful outcomes.
- Partner closely with product and engineering to ship features while maintaining high quality at a fast 0-1 pace.
- Help define and evolve the design patterns and systems the team relies on for consistency and scalability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of product design experience for consumer products, with a portfolio of shipped work that demonstrates impact.
- Strong capabilities across product thinking, interaction design, and visual/UI execution, with polished interface delivery.
- Proven ability to independently drive design for a major product area from concept through shipping.
- Ability to work quickly and iterate with engineering and product in an early-stage environment.
- Demonstrated visual design craft in typography, color, layout, and composition, reflecting a refined aesthetic sensibility.
- Experience designing a new app from scratch, covering ideation through launch.
- Experience with content feeds, discovery, community, or social products.
- Prototyping skills including motion design and interactive prototypes.
- Proven ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive measurable impact, such as efficiency gains and quality improvements.
- Experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality/accuracy reviews.
- Ongoing AI skill development, including prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies.
