Lead Product Designer - Consumer Experience

Rocket Companies is seeking a Lead Product Designer to shape the consumer experience, driving zero-to-one innovation across both desktop and mobile. This onsite role in Washington, DC offers a yearly salary between USD 180,700 and 244,500 and requires a minimum of eight years in product design. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and leadership to apply data-driven experimentation and strong craft to enhance profitability while elevating the user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design Redfin’s core consumer product across desktop and mobile.
• Balance visionary product thinking with experimentation, ensuring projects—from quick tests to major innovations—raise the standard for a world-class platform.
• Create an engaging, cohesive user experience with careful attention to every step of the user journey.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to define and design features that meet both user and business needs.
• Present design concepts through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups, and defend your work to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Use quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform decisions and continuously iterate on product improvements.
• Advocate for the user, ensuring their voice guides the design process.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system to maintain a consistent and scalable experience across Redfin products.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Product Designer, with a portfolio showcasing shipped, impactful products.
• Excellent communicator who can clearly articulate design decisions and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Detail-oriented, with a strong sense of aesthetics, consistency, and user-centered design principles.
