Product Designer, Principal Associate
Job Description
Capital One is seeking a Product Designer to support its Experience Design team in delivering design solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Apply deep expertise in product design, including interaction, visual, and service design, to raise the quality and maturity of the design practice
- Partner cross-functionally to use design tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems; collaborate with teams to produce artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
- Advocate for the customer throughout the design process using critical thinking informed by data, research insights, scalability, technical constraints, and feedback
- Use business and customer strategy to facilitate design activities with teams and partners; balance customer needs and business goals to support aligned outcomes
- Build knowledge of technology and data capabilities, including emerging technologies; use this understanding to inform work, spot new opportunities, and help teams navigate technical limitations
- Develop relationships with partners and expand your network by listening to diverse perspectives; collaborate to influence outcomes, reduce silos, and drive alignment
- Present work to audiences across levels and job functions using a human-centered approach that connects design frameworks with data and research insights to explain insights and design decisions
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a Product Design role
- 3+ years of experience using design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in a Product Design role
- 4+ years of experience with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma
- 4+ years of experience collaborating with product, tech, and business partners
- 4+ years of experience working with an established design system
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
Location
- McLean, VA (onsite)
Compensation
- USD 131,300 - 149,800 per year
