Job Description

Pattern is hiring a part-time Junior AI Art Director (20 hours/week) in Lehi, UT (onsite), working with creative, engineering, and studio teams to vet and improve AI-generated ecommerce content for hundreds of global brands.

Responsibilities

  • Review and audit automated AI outputs across images, copy, and video for visual quality and brand alignment
  • Experiment with multiple image generation models and tools (including Nanobanana ChatGpt Image, Qwen, Weavey, and local generative workflows) to cover diverse product categories
  • Perform spot-checks against quality benchmarks to verify that data source assets perform in both training and generation environments
  • Work onsite with the studio team to understand capture setups and ensure studio photography is tuned for high-fidelity content
  • Deliver structured, actionable aesthetic feedback to engineering and technical teams to tune and improve the generative engine

Requirements

  • Strong taste and visual judgment from experience in graphic design, photography, marketing, or fine arts to evaluate brand compliance and imagery quality
  • Open-minded, eager attitude toward AI and generative image tools, including technical systems for creative production and node-based workflows
  • Ability to translate abstract brand and visual concepts into precise feedback teams can act on
  • High energy and comfort with rapidly evolving systems, changing parameters, and pioneering new creative territory
  • Ability to work onsite in the office (ideally Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays) with periodic studio visits

What a day in the life looks like

  • Vetting Creative Outputs: Audit automated AI image generations, copy, and video content for visual quality and brand alignment
  • Testing and Prompting: Try different image generation models and tools (including Nanobanana ChatGpt Image, Qwen, Weavey, and local workflows) to test creation across product categories
  • Building Auditing Rules: Spot-check generated imagery against quality benchmarks, including how assets behave in model training and generation environments
  • Studio & Portal Collaboration: Work onsite with the studio team to understand capture setups and confirm studio photography supports high-fidelity outputs
  • Feedback Loops: Send structured, actionable aesthetic feedback to engineering to tune and improve the generative engine

  • First 90 Days: Communicate precise feedback to engineering teams and take point on spot-checking portal data capture systems

  • Collaborates with the Studio Head, Portal Stylists, Partner Art Directors, Pattern Labs, and other departments including Engineering, Tech, and Marketing
