Job Description

Alpaca Health seeks a founding product designer to lead the 0-to-1 development of the parent-facing portal and redesign the provider-facing EHR, delivering a cohesive consumer-grade experience for families and clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Own the 0-to-1 build of the parent-facing portal, from concept through launch and live product
  • Design a seamless, consumer-grade journey for families navigating care, including intake, scheduling, messaging, and payments
  • Elevate the provider-facing EHR to feel intuitive, fast, and delightful, steering away from clunky healthcare software
  • Conduct user interviews with parents, BCBAs, and staff to uncover workflows, pain points, and unmet needs
  • Rapidly prototype and test user flows, iterating based on real usage and feedback
  • Define product requirements, prioritize ruthlessly, and ship quickly in collaboration with engineering
  • Leverage AI tools for prototyping, workflow automation, and copilots to accelerate development and unlock new capabilities
  • Build scalable systems, not just features, including onboarding flows, engagement loops, and operational tooling
  • Partner cross-functionally with ops, clinical, and growth teams to ensure the product drives real outcomes such as faster start of care, better retention, and higher utilization

Requirements

  • Highly product-minded and execution-driven; you build and ship, not only define features
  • Strong intuition for consumer products and the ability to translate that into healthcare
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and energized by 0-to-1 environments
  • Constantly talk to users and translate insights into product decisions
  • Bias for action and the ability to move fast without sacrificing quality
  • Fluent with modern AI tools and use them as a force multiplier in your workflow
  • Committed to building products that meaningfully improve lives, not just internal tools
  • Operate like an owner with a high bar for yourself and the team
  • Based in NYC or willing to relocate; able to work five days a week in the office
