Job Description

VIDAS seeks a Creative Director/Storyteller to shape human-centered narratives around trauma-informed immigration advocacy and to guide brand design across multi-channel communications. The role includes developing audience-ready materials for outreach and education events.

Responsibilities

  • Translate legal information into accessible, ethical storytelling that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Guide the evolution of visual identity, including logos and brand kits, to reflect VIDAS mission and team culture.
  • Develop content for website, social media, newsletters, and donor communications across multiple channels.
  • Maintain a consistent, empathetic brand voice across all platforms.
  • Produce tailored outreach and education materials for special groups at various events.
  • Assist with planning and hosting special community events to engage supporters.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, journalism, or nonprofit communications with strong narrative capability.
  • Deep empathy for the immigrant experience, with a commitment to social justice and equal access.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred (English/Spanish or English/Creole).
  • Ethical focus on trauma-informed storytelling and strict client confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Suite, or equivalent creative tools.
  • Videography and video editing skills.

VIDAS provides trauma-informed immigration legal advocacy in the North Bay area. The organization envisions universal representation, safe passage, and a humane migration system for all. In partnership with impacted community members and visionary leaders, VIDAS aims to create a future where everyone can build a life and thrive in the North Bay, regardless of where their story began. The Creative Director will bridge complex legal advocacy with human-centered storytelling.
