Art Director

You will own art direction that blends strong creative vision with real usability, guiding design from early concepting through final execution for interactive web and other media. Based onsite in Detroit, MI, this is a team environment built for autonomy, growth, and meaningful impact.

What you’ll do

• Develop and frame creative concepts that set the artistic direction.
• Brainstorm new ideas, establish design guidelines, and create mock-ups to align teams and move projects forward.
• Visualize, design, and conceptualize user experiences through visual prototypes.
• Execute design direction end to end, manage the design process, and sign off on final designs.
• Inspire the team through ideas, designs, and a quality-focused mindset.
• Collaborate with the CEO and other project-related teams to identify project needs and shape a finished product that supports objectives while maintaining the core creative concept.
• Manage, mentor, and coach the design team.
• Provide creative input, strategy, and ongoing support to keep work aligned and advancing.
• Bring a blend of big-picture design thinking, detail orientation, and a strong drive for creativity.

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience defining and driving design process and direction for large interactive projects for web and other media.
• Proven ability to generate creative ideas and concepts.
• A strong design portfolio covering digital design expertise.
• Drive to lead the design team and propel the company forward.
• Excellent knowledge of information architecture, user interface essentials, interaction design, and style guide creation. Motion design knowledge is a plus.
• Expert skills using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with Figma is a plus.
