Web Designer & Web Developer (Beauty E‑Commerce, AI‑Driven)
Job Description
Web Designer and Web Developer is needed to own the online presence for a growing beauty brand in Charlotte, NC, onsite, with a salary range of $60,000–$75,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement responsive pages across the site, including home, category, product, blog, and landing pages, to reflect the brand and drive online sales.
- Develop and maintain the storefront on a major e-commerce platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar), including themes, templates, and custom sections.
- Utilize AI tools for content creation, image generation, A/B testing, and personalization to refine layouts, visuals, and product content.
- Enhance the user experience and customer journey on desktop and mobile, focusing on navigation, search, product discovery, checkout flow, and page performance.
- Apply basic SEO practices, including metadata, headings, internal linking, image alt text, and structured content.
- Collaborate with marketing to craft campaign landing pages, email capture flows, and promotional banners for new product launches and sales.
- Monitor key metrics such as traffic, conversion rate, bounce rate, and cart abandonment; propose UX or design improvements based on data.
- Maintain site security, perform basic QA, and troubleshoot bugs, broken links, and layout issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in web design and front-end development for e-commerce or consumer brands.
- Strong portfolio showcasing e-commerce work, preferably in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle, including product/category pages and landing pages.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript; experience customizing themes on major e-commerce platforms (Shopify Liquid, WooCommerce/WordPress, or similar).
- Competence in modern design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, or similar) and basic graphics editing (Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva).
- Practical experience using AI tools within workflows for tasks such as draft copy generation, image resizing or enhancement, creating variations, or running experiments/personalization.
- Solid understanding of responsive design, UX best practices, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Ability to manage projects end-to-end, from brief and wireframes to launch and iteration.

Preferred Qualifications
