Web Designer, Brand Web Experience

Scale AI is building modern digital experiences for its product and brand, with a strong focus on scale.com. This role designs and builds responsive, high-quality web experiences, working closely with web engineers to translate business and user needs into production-ready interfaces.

This onsite position is based in New York, NY and offers a salary range of USD 140,400 - 175,500 per year. The position requires 8+ years of experience, backed by a portfolio that demonstrates strong visual craft and shipped digital work.

What you’ll do

• Design responsive, visually compelling layouts, page templates, graphics, and interactive UI patterns across Scale’s digital properties, with a primary focus on scale.com.
• Create reusable design components, patterns, and systems that support consistency while enabling teams to move quickly.
• Produce wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that turn business goals, brand direction, and user needs into clear digital experiences.
• Collaborate with web engineers to communicate design intent, prepare implementation-ready specifications, review builds, and support high-quality execution.
• Apply best practices for responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web performance across devices and screen sizes.
• Ensure consistent application of Scale’s visual identity while exploring new directions aligned with the company’s growth and innovation in the AI industry.
• Explore AI-powered design and development tools, rapid prototyping approaches, and new interaction patterns to improve workflow speed and modernize web experiences.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate feedback, evaluate design effectiveness, and continuously improve the quality and impact of web experiences.

What you bring

• 8+ years of experience in web design, digital design, visual design, or a related field, supported by a portfolio showing strong visual craft, web design expertise, and shipped digital experiences.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma for design systems, component libraries, prototyping, and developer handoff.
• Working understanding of responsive design, typography, layout systems, accessibility, interaction design, and modern web UI/UX principles.
• Ability to design within technical constraints without sacrificing experience quality.
• Knowledge of how designs translate into production sites, including working familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• Capability to create scalable design patterns and reusable components that maintain visual consistency across complex websites and multiple content types.
• Strong communication skills, comfort receiving constructive feedback, proactive problem-solving, and effective collaboration with design, engineering, marketing, and brand partners.
• Genuine excitement about emerging AI tools, including an experimentation mindset to try new tools and introduce new ideas to the team.

• Exposure to AI-assisted design, prototyping, and vibe-coding tools for rapidly exploring and building interactive web experiences.
• Experience using web analytics, experimentation, or user research to inform design decisions and improve user journeys.
• Experience creating data visualizations, technical graphics, or complex information experiences.
• An interest in the AI industry and an understanding of Scale’s mission and products.
