Web Designer, Brand Web Experience

Scale AI is seeking a web designer focused on brand web experience work, with a primary emphasis on delivering high-quality, responsive experiences for scale.com. In this role, you will translate business objectives and brand direction into intuitive digital design, while partnering closely with web engineers to ensure strong execution.

Location and Salary

• Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)
• Compensation: USD 140,400 - 175,500 per year
• Experience level: 8+ years

Responsibilities

• Design responsive, visually compelling website layouts, page templates, graphics, and interactive UI patterns across Scale’s digital properties, with a primary focus on scale.com.
• Create reusable design components, patterns, and systems to maintain consistency across web experiences and help teams move quickly and efficiently.
• Produce wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that reflect business objectives, brand direction, and user needs.
• Partner with web engineers to communicate design intent, provide implementation-ready specifications, review builds, and support high-quality delivery.
• Apply best practices for responsive design, accessibility, usability, and web performance across devices and screen sizes.
• Maintain consistent application of Scale’s visual identity while exploring new directions aligned with the company’s growth and innovation in the AI industry.
• Explore AI-powered design and development tools, rapid prototyping approaches, and new interaction patterns to accelerate workflows.
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate feedback, evaluate design effectiveness, and improve web experience quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in web design, digital design, visual design, or a related field, with a portfolio showing strong visual craft, web design expertise, and shipped digital experiences.
• Proficiency in Figma for design systems, component libraries, prototyping, and developer handoff.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, typography, layout systems, accessibility, interaction design, and modern web UI/UX principles.
• Ability to design effectively within technical constraints without reducing the quality of the experience.
• Knowledge of production translation, including working familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• Capability to create scalable patterns and reusable components that sustain visual consistency across complex websites and multiple content types.
• Interest in emerging AI tools and how they may transform design and development workflows.
• Ability to balance speed with craft, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment.
• Clear communication skills, openness to constructive feedback, proactive problem-solving, and effective collaboration with design, engineering, marketing, and brand partners.

• Exposure to AI-assisted design, prototyping, and vibe-coding tools to rapidly explore and build interactive web experiences.
• Experience using web analytics, experimentation, or user research to guide design decisions and improve user journeys.
• Experience creating data visualizations, technical graphics, or complex information experiences.
• Interest in the AI industry, including an understanding of Scale’s mission and products.
