Web Designer
Job Description
Hartford Funds is seeking a Web Designer for the Marketing Design team to create and manage data-driven web experiences across campaigns and product pages.
Responsibilities
- Translate creative direction into clean, accessible, functional web pages
- Hand-code HTML, CSS, and front-end enhancements
- Create wireframes and prototypes, including mockups and interactive concepts
- Design supporting graphics and web imagery for page and campaign needs
- Build and maintain live website content, including page templates
- Assemble, QA, and update data-driven product pages in CMS and DAM systems while meeting brand standards and regulatory compliance requirements
- Apply UI/UX best practices and standards for intuitive, user-centered, accessible digital experiences
- Produce custom graphics and visual assets using Adobe Photoshop and related design tools
- Help develop and maintain digital design systems, website style guides, and digital brand elements aligned to the master brand guideline document
- Manage and publish web content and digital assets in CMS/DAM using custom components and page templates, including tags and document metadata
- Maintain accuracy and functionality of live pages through content updates, link checks, page refreshes, bug fixes, component updates, and routine QA
- Build, update, and maintain product pages that rely on structured data, ensuring fund information, performance data, disclosures, documents, related links, and modules display correctly
- Implement front-end web functionality using JavaScript by creating or modifying existing code to improve page behavior
- Support website redesign and brand refresh efforts, including rebuilding, updating, testing, and maintaining rebranded templates and elements
- Partner with Senior Web Designer, marketing strategists, writers, product stakeholders, IT, and compliance to move work from concept to launch and keep pages current
- Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities with accurate, on-time delivery and consistent self-QA
- Use AI tools to assist with coding, prototyping, troubleshooting, and problem-solving in front-end development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in web design, Graphic Design, Interactive/Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrable proficiency with hand-coding HTML and CSS
- Ability to confidently read, modify, and adapt existing JavaScript
- Graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop (and familiarity with the broader Adobe Creative Suite)
- Solid understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, and web accessibility standards
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes
- Hands-on experience with a CMS and DAM platform, including publishing, metadata management, and ongoing maintenance
- Familiarity with using AI tools to assist with coding and development
- Strong attention to detail, including QA of live pages and validation of product-page data and links
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Compensation
- Base pay range: $55,000 - $75,000 annualized
- May include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition
Location: Wayne, PA (hybrid)
Salary: USD 55,000 - 75,000 per yearly
