Visual Design Manager
Job Description
Lead visual design across client delivery, business development, and people/practice growth within Accenture Song’s Design & Digital Products practice.
Responsibilities
- Own visual design direction for engagements (internal or client) from concept through delivery, with accountability for design quality, aesthetic cohesion, and project timelines.
- Translate abstract briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear, compelling visual languages as a conceptual thinker.
- Set and defend a high visual craft bar while directing creation of brand identities, design systems, motion, typography, illustration, and digital experiences.
- Operate both visionary and hands-on: define creative direction and stay close to execution, shaping key design decisions and delivering high-quality output with your team.
- Use AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production, and demonstrate how AI enhances creative thinking instead of replacing it.
- Act as a leading creative voice in client discussions by sharing visual perspective and converting design rationale into strategic narratives for complex, high-pressure decisions.
- Document how AI affects visual design workflows and quantify impact on delivery quality and team performance to evolve practice ways of working.
- Support proposals, create case studies from your work, and convert project learning into thought leadership that highlights visual design capabilities.
- Identify and shape new creative opportunities with existing clients, partnering with account leads to build a point of view around brand, design system, or experience challenges.
- Manage, support, and mentor team members day to day by strengthening visual craft, building creative confidence, helping navigate challenges, and growing independence.
- Contribute consistently to the Visual Design craft by sharing methods, creative references, and outcomes, and by helping evolve the discipline.
Requirements
- 7+ years of visual design experience across a range of industries, brand types, platforms, and visual contexts.
- 4+ years leading visual design engagements end-to-end, from creative concepting and visual strategy through production-ready delivery.
- 4+ years directing the creation of brand identities, design systems, typography, motion, illustration, and digital UI that reflect a consistent visual voice.
- 4+ years producing and directing high-fidelity visual work with exceptional attention to detail, including pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specifications.
- 3+ years directly managing or coaching visual designers, with a track record of developing contributors into stronger, more independent creative practitioners.
- 3+ years working in agile and cross-functional environments with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists to deliver cohesive experiences.
- 3+ years delivering high-caliber visual design work that has shipped at scale, solved complex product or brand challenges, and driven measurable impact across customer experiences and business goals.
- Experience making foundational visual design decisions with deep understanding of UX.
- Experience building and contributing to scalable design systems that maintain visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
- Experience embedding AI tools and workflows in visual design practice, including concept generation, mood-boarding, rapid iteration, and modeling AI-enabled ways of working for a team.
- Recent hands-on experience in tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Claude Design, and relevant motion/illustration or AI design tools; this is not a purely managerial role.
- Facilitation skills and creative presence to present visual strategy and design rationale to senior client stakeholders and guide decisions under pressure.
