Visual Design Manager
Job Description
Accenture Song is hiring a Visual Design Manager in Chicago, IL (onsite) to lead visual design direction, craft standards, and narrative across engagements.
Responsibilities
- Own visual design direction on engagements (internal or client), from concept through delivery, with accountability for design quality, aesthetic cohesion, and project timelines.
- Translate briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear visual languages as a conceptual design thinker.
- Set and defend high visual craft standards while directing brand identities, design systems, motion, typography, illustration, and digital experiences.
- Lead from strategy to execution: define creative direction while staying hands-on and producing high-quality output alongside your team.
- Apply AI tools to accelerate concepting, iteration, and production, and model how AI supports creative thinking.
- Act as a leading creative voice in client discussions by sharing visual perspective and turning design rationale into strategic narratives for complex decisions.
- Document how AI is reshaping visual design workflows and quantify impact on delivery quality and team performance to evolve practice ways of working.
- Support proposals, create case studies, and develop thought leadership that demonstrates visual design capabilities.
- Identify and shape new creative opportunities with existing clients, partnering with account leads to build a point of view around brand, design system, or experience challenges.
- Manage, support, and mentor visual designers in day-to-day work, strengthening craft, confidence, and creative independence.
- Remain an active member of the Visual Design craft by sharing methods, references, and outcomes to help evolve the discipline.
Requirements
- 7+ years of visual design experience across a range of industries, brand types, platforms, and visual contexts.

- 4+ years producing and directing high-fidelity visual work with exceptional attention to detail, including pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specifications.
- 3+ years directly managing or coaching visual designers, demonstrating ability to develop contributors into stronger, more independent practitioners.
- 3+ years working in agile and cross-functional environments with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists to deliver cohesive experiences.
- 3+ years delivering high-caliber visual design work shipped at scale, solving complex product or brand challenges, and driving measurable impact across customer experiences and business goals.
- Experience making ground-level visual design decisions with deep UX understanding, ensuring visuals function well while expressing a coherent brand point of view.
- Experience building and contributing to scalable design systems for visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
- Experience embedding AI tools and workflows into visual design practice, from concept generation and mood-boarding to rapid iteration and AI-enabled ways of working for a team.
