You will lead visual design direction across client and internal engagements, define aesthetic language and design systems, and leverage AI to accelerate concepting and production. This role spans client delivery, business development, and people and practice development, offering a hands-on leadership position with strategic impact. The annual compensation ranges from USD 87,400 - 266,300 per year.

Responsibilities
- Steer the visual design trajectory across client and internal engagements from concept to delivery, ensuring design quality, cohesive aesthetics, and on-time execution.
- Translate abstract briefs, brand strategy, and audience insights into clear visual languages through strong conceptual thinking.
- Define and uphold a rigorous visual craft standard, guiding brand identities, design systems, motion, typography, illustration, and digital experiences.
- Balance strategic vision with hands-on involvement, shaping key design decisions and delivering high-quality output with your team.
- Leverage AI to speed concepting, iteration, and production, demonstrating how these tools augment creativity rather than replace it.
- Act as a principal creative voice in client conversations, articulating visual perspectives and translating design rationale into strategic narratives under pressure.
- Document AI-driven workflow changes and quantify their impact on delivery quality and team performance to evolve the design practice.
- Contribute to proposals, develop case studies from your work, and translate learnings into thought leadership that showcases visual design capabilities.
- Spot and shape new creative opportunities with existing clients, identifying brand, design system, or experience challenges as openings for deeper engagement, in partnership with account leads.
- Coach and mentor team members in daily work, helping them grow their craft, confidence, and independent creative practice.
- Be an active member of the Visual Design craft, sharing methods, references, and project outcomes to advance the discipline.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Visual Design across a range of industries, brand types, platforms, and contexts.
- 4+ years leading visual design engagements end-to-end, from concept and visual strategy through production-ready delivery.
- 4+ years directing the creation of brand identities, design systems, typography, motion, illustration, and digital UI with a strong, cohesive visual voice.
- 4+ years producing high-fidelity visual work with meticulous attention to detail, including pixel-perfect deliverables and developer-ready specs.
- 3+ years directly managing or coaching visual designers, developing contributors into stronger, more independent practitioners.
- 3+ years in agile and cross-functional environments, collaborating with product designers, product managers, engineers, and strategists to deliver cohesive experiences.
- 3+ years delivering high-caliber visual design work shipped at scale, solving complex product or brand challenges and driving measurable impact.
- 3+ years in hands-on visual design decisions with a deep understanding of UX, ensuring visuals guide users intuitively while supporting the brand.
- 3+ years building and contributing to scalable design systems that ensure visual consistency across products, platforms, and channels.
- 3+ years embedding AI tools and workflows into visual design from concept generation and mood-boarding to rapid iteration and AI-enabled workflows for a team.
- 3+ years hands-on with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Claude Design and related motion or illustration tools; this is not a purely managerial role.
- 3+ years facilitating and presenting visual strategy and design rationale to senior client stakeholders, guiding decisions under pressure.
- Fluency in adjacent areas such as brand strategy, service design, or content design, or demonstrated self-directed expansion of your skill set.
- Experience contributing to practice-level initiatives including ways of working, craft assets, onboarding, or community forums.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in visual design, visual communications, graphic design, fine art, or a related field.
- Experience in management consulting, a creative agency, or a professional services environment.
- Contributes to external thought leadership through published POVs, speaking at events, or representing the practice in the broader design community.
