Job Description
Evans & Chambers Technology is seeking a senior UI/UX designer to advance its IdAM/ICAM and digital policy management initiatives in Chantilly, Virginia, on site. The role emphasizes delivering accessible, secure WordPress platforms and bridging design, development, and production workflows from concept to deployment.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement WordPress themes that are clean, maintainable, and scalable from scratch
- Build custom WordPress plugins to support specific functionality and integrations
- Optimize back-end performance through database and server integration tuning
- Keep themes and plugins up to date and enhance them over time
- Conduct performance testing and apply speed improvements
- Monitor live site performance and troubleshoot UX issues
- Perform full-stack WordPress development across front-end and back-end
- Ensure usability and accessibility compliance across devices
- Participate in Agile development cycles
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- BS degree and 8 to 12 years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of usability and accessibility standards
- Front-end experience: HTML5, SASS/CSS, JavaScript
- Back-end experience: PHP, MySQL, WP REST API, JSON
- Experience developing custom WordPress features and plugins
- Unit testing and QA experience
- Accessibility testing and compliance experience
