UI / UX Designer
Job Description
York Space Systems is building modern, web-based tools that help operators monitor and control spacecraft constellations. As an early-career UI/UX Designer, you will translate requirements into clear product experiences, develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes within an existing design system, and work closely with mission-focused teams in an agile environment.
This hybrid role is based in Greenwood Village, CO (4 days in office). If you enjoy building usable interfaces and iterating with feedback, this position offers the structure to grow while contributing directly to mission-critical software.
What you’ll do
- Translate customer and operator requirements into clean, intuitive designs
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes that work within and support an existing design system
- Partner with designers, product managers, developers, and mission operators to refine requirements and incorporate feedback
- Maintain and organize design files and document design decisions
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you bring
- 1-2 years of UI/UX design experience, including internships and academic or personal projects
- Strong Figma skills, including components, auto-layout, and design system workflows
- Hands-on experience producing wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes
- Experience defining user flows and identifying friction points
- Eagerness to continue learning and improving
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to proactively seek information and guidance when requirements are vague or unclear
- Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance
- A design portfolio showing UI/UX work from previous projects, internships, or academic work

Salary: USD 50,000 - 90,000 per year
