Job Description

UI/UX Business Analyst Consultant contract role with a hybrid setup in Lower Manhattan for a small client. You will help shape practical, user-centered digital experiences by connecting business workflows with research insights and clear, build-ready requirements. This 12-month 1099 hybrid contract offers an hourly rate of $35.00 to $55.00.

What you’ll do

  • Analyze business workflows, lead user research, and translate complex requirements into intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify project goals, define success metrics, and document detailed functional requirements.
  • Plan and run user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather actionable insights into user behavior and pain points.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and senior designers to iterate and refine designs based on feedback.
  • Conduct user testing sessions, analyze feedback, and incorporate changes that improve interface usability and satisfaction.
  • Work closely with developers to support accurate execution of designs and address implementation challenges.
  • Incorporate UX principles to support seamless, user-friendly experiences.
  • Stay current on UI design trends, tools, and best practices, and apply them to elevate product experiences.

What you bring

  • 5+ years of combined experience in business analysis, product ownership, or UI/UX roles.
  • Proficiency with tools including Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite, plus requirements management platforms such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to present ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
