Job Description

The Staff Product Designer role at The Coca-Cola Company partners with product and engineering leaders to define and lead product design across digital enterprise and consumer experiences. Based in Atlanta, this position helps shape strategy and user experience direction, mentor design talent, and advance design systems and AI-enabled experience capabilities.

Location and Work Model

Atlanta, GA (onsite) at The Coca-Cola Company's global headquarters. The team follows a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office to support a cohesive, collaborative culture. Relocation assistance is available for candidates open to making Atlanta home.

Role Scope

This Staff Product Designer position focuses on co-owning product strategy and UX direction across multiple product areas. Responsibilities span sales, service, and operational tools, design system evolution, and AI-enabled experiences. The role also includes building and scaling the design practice through mentorship and strong critique and governance practices.

Compensation

Salary: USD 202,000 - 229,000 per year.

Annual incentive: 30% reference value (market-based competitive value for the role, indicating performance at target).

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-create product strategy with product management and engineering partners for assigned areas, shaping vision and roadmap from the start.
  • Develop UX direction across multiple product areas to ensure coherence, quality, and user-centric outcomes for multiple user types.
  • Navigate organizational and technical resistance while operating effectively in ambiguity and earning trust through sound judgment.
  • Communicate design strategy at an executive level, creating narratives that align senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Design scalable solutions that prioritize customer value and address complex, interconnected needs.
  • Partner with design leadership to establish and evolve the design system for a growing, global product portfolio.
  • Model exceptional craft standards and maintain a high bar for quality across experiences the team ships.
  • Champion new design approaches, tools, and methodologies, including AI-assisted design, to improve speed without losing rigor.
  • Create and maintain governance practices related to design systems, accessibility, and experience standards.
  • Define how design works at Coca-Cola, including rituals, frameworks, and ways of working that support effectiveness and scalability.
  • Identify practice maturity gaps and proactively close them by building systems, workflows, or infrastructure that enable other designers.
  • Mentor and develop design craft and experience strategy across the team, investing in the growth and evolution of design.
  • Lead critique, feedback, and review processes that improve quality and strengthen organizational design judgment.
  • Foster experimentation, reflection, and continuous improvement so learning is visible and valued.
  • Build deep, trusted relationships with product, engineering, data, and research partners at senior levels.
  • Secure stakeholder buy-in through compelling storytelling and a track record of delivering outcomes.
  • Represent the design organization in strategic business conversations, advocating for user-centered approaches with clarity and credibility.

Required Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of product design or UX experience, with at least 2 years at the staff, principal, or design lead level.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Portfolio showing strategic design and thought leadership on complex, high-impact digital products with measurable business and user outcomes.
  • Proven experience co-owning product strategy with product management and engineering, shaping direction from the top down.
  • Experience contributing to or significantly evolving a design system and its governance, including how embedded AI components work within and across platforms. Ability to explain differences between traditional UX, AI in UX, and agentic UX principles, including why they matter, with examples.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills tailored to different audiences to earn alignment from senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success mentoring or peer-coaching designers and influencing team capability.
  • Fluency in user-centered design, accessibility standards, and interaction design across web and mobile platforms.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Claude Code, Claude Design, and other modern (AI) prototyping tools, including clear examples of AI workflow incorporation, AI capability evaluation, and how inputs and outcomes improved in the last 18 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software, CPG, retail, or ecommerce spanning multiple user roles, geographies, and touchpoints, often building systems or connected platforms from the ground up.
  • Expertise designing for or alongside AI-enabled and intelligent systems, including agentic or generative experiences.
  • Experience working across both consumer-facing and internal tooling product contexts.
