Job Description

Netflix offers a remote Staff Product Designer role with a compensation range of USD 460,000 - 710,000 per year. With 10+ years of experience, you will shape the future of developer experience by designing end-to-end workflows and leading design programs for complex technical platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Steer design strategy for intricate developer platform programs, delivering intuitive interfaces that boost developer productivity
  • Define and evolve design patterns and scalable systems across the platform
  • Identify opportunities for innovation through user research and technical insight
  • Design cohesive end-to-end experiences that lower cognitive load
  • Define metrics and processes to measure and improve developer experience
  • Own end-to-end design solutions for complex technical workflows
  • Develop and validate prototypes that clearly communicate concepts
  • Establish scalable design practices and foundational patterns
  • Scope work and negotiate feasible deliverables with partners
  • Mentor other designers in technical product design and raise design standards
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape strategy and implementation
  • Lead design workshops and sessions with technical stakeholders
  • Convey design vision and approach to senior leadership
  • Foster strong relationships across platform teams
  • Influence outcomes to ensure coherent end-to-end experiences

Requirements

  • 10+ years as a Product Designer or equivalent experience
  • Experience designing developer tools, platforms, or other technical products
  • Strong portfolio illustrating complex system design and technical product work
  • Proven track record of guiding design initiatives from concept to launch
  • Expertise with design tools such as Figma and modern prototyping technologies
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to architect scalable solutions
  • History of leading design strategy for complex technical products
  • Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional partners without direct authority
  • Excellence in communicating design decisions to technical audiences
  • Proven experience mentoring designers and improving team practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives independently
  • Skill in outlining long term vision and delivering through incremental steps
  • Deep knowledge of software development processes, toolchains, cloud and devops
  • Familiarity with modern development practices and platforms
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts into intuitive user experiences
  • Experience designing interactive data visualizations and complex system representations
  • Experience with dashboard design and information architecture for technical products
  • Understanding of infrastructure automation concepts and their UX implications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers (coding skills not required)
  • Experience with AI/ML enhanced user experiences a plus
  • Continuous learner passionate about design excellence and culture
  • Self-motivated and autonomous
  • Mature approach to giving and receiving feedback
  • Collaborative and ego-free in technical discussions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and driving clarity
