Senior UX/UI Design Lead
Job Description
The Senior UX/UI Design Lead at PlayStation Global shapes the UX/UI strategy for an unannounced project on teamLFG. Working with directors and cross-disciplinary teams, the role translates player needs into engaging experiences across interfaces and interactions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the UX/UI roadmap, preserving the game vision by aligning with product and player needs in collaboration with the Game Director
- Represent UX/UI in feature discussions, prioritization, and goal setting to ensure player experiences support core gameplay, social systems, monetization, live events, and progression
- Collaborate with the Art Director to define the look and feel of the user interface and relay direction and feedback to the UX/UI team
- Deliver wireframes, user flows, information architecture, and interactive prototypes to drive cross‑functional alignment on the UX/UI vision
- Design from first principles by studying the game genre, reviewing competitive references, participating in playtests, and partnering with User Research to uncover player needs and usability concerns
- Establish and promote robust UX standards and best practices across the studio, including design systems, pillars, pipelines, and component libraries
- Build and maintain a healthy UX/UI team through planning, staffing, hiring, and exdev management, fostering a collaborative culture
Requirements
- Experience leading or directly supporting leadership on an ongoing live service game
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, including Slack, presentations, wireframes, flows, prototypes, and design documentation
- Proven ability to articulate UX/UI design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross‑disciplinary teams (Game Design, Art, Engineering, Test, etc.)
- Strong capability to give and receive constructive feedback and determine next steps
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent
- Ability to create functional prototypes and accompanying technical documentation
- Experience in management, strategy, planning, and team building
- Solid understanding of user‑centered design principles
- Knowledge of game development pipelines and technical constraints
- Experience bridging technical specs and player experiences
- Experience across multiplayer genres and on multiple platforms (PC, console)
