Senior UI/UX Designer
Job Description

Contact Government Services, LLC is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead research-driven, user-centered design for web pages, application interfaces, and dynamic solutions for a large Federal agency. This onsite role in Rockville, MD supports full-scale UX design planning through design and implementation across multiple sites and applications, with close collaboration across federal teams.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end UX design work, including research, blueprinting, and evaluation of existing systems.
- Plan, design, and help implement multiple sites and applications across multiple clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Run and analyze user research to guide the creation of highly usable web pages, application interfaces, and other dynamic solutions.
- Partner with federal practice engineers and federal clients to define, design, and implement innovative, intuitive solutions for federal users and stakeholders.
- Produce wireframes, storyboards, and site maps that clearly communicate interaction and design concepts for websites and applications.
- Build scalable design resources that support collaboration and the growth of ECS creative services.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Public Trust eligibility (must be able to obtain).
- Strong UX design experience, with 10+ years combined professional design background (UCD, UI/UX design).
- A strong online portfolio demonstrating research-driven decisions for responsive web and mobile applications.
- Results-oriented problem solving with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and overall excellence.
- Expertise in user research methodologies, user-centered design principles and frameworks, and user interface design standards.
- Advanced knowledge of user personas, user flows, affinity mapping, and other research tools.
- Understanding of the website development life cycle, including discovery, planning, design, requirements, coding, testing, and user testing and evaluation.
- Experience evaluating existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop UX recommendations.
- Experience designing web and mobile applications compliant with 508 and US Web Design System (USWDS) standards.
- Ability to prioritize features while balancing user goals and business requirements.
- Experience carrying designs from wireframes through delivery of final high-fidelity UI mockups.
- Experience creating and maintaining rapid customer feedback loops at critical stages of the design process.
- Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, including ability to mentor or lead junior designers.
- Track record delivering both greenfield designs and redesigns of established platforms or products.
- Advanced coding knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JS.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe xD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
