Senior Product Designer — Data-Dense Dashboards & Monitoring UI
Job Description
BE Networks is hiring a Senior Product Designer to build a data-dense operator web UI for an AI-driven observability and root-cause-analysis platform.
Responsibilities
- Build the web UI from the ground up for an operator console network administrators use during outages
- Design network topology views with hundreds of devices, links, and logical groupings while maintaining readability
- Create alarm and incident surfaces, including severity encoding, rollup and suppression, and “what changed since I last looked”
- Design impact analysis to show downstream reach from a single failure and identify affected tenants and services
- Design time-series and telemetry views for interface errors, drops, queue congestion, and throughput trends
- Design AI-generated root-cause narratives that present evidence, provenance, and confidence for operator auditability
- Design human-in-the-loop approval flows for recommended remediation, accounting for real consequences of incorrect actions
- Create a dark-mode-first component library and token set that engineers can implement directly
- Run usability sessions with practicing network operators to validate concepts prior to build
- Work within a two-week sprint cadence alongside engineering, aligning design timing with delivery
- Translate engineering intent and operator needs into clear design specs, with additional shaping since there is no PM
- Hand off tokens and components in Figma and Claude Design (or similar tooling), plus sufficient React and CSS context so engineers can implement accurately
Requirements
- Portfolio demonstrating data-dense work such as dashboards, NOC or ops consoles, admin tooling, trading, or monitoring interfaces (not landing pages)
- Proven ability to create information hierarchy under pressure, making 300 rows and a dozen live metrics scannable within seconds
- Experience with graph or network visualization at scale, including layout, grouping, and progressive disclosure (Cytoscape.js, D3, G6, Sigma, or equivalent)
- Fluency with time-series charting decisions, including when to use heatmaps vs overlaid lines, showing gaps vs zeros, and aligning charts to incident windows
- Strong Figma skills plus working knowledge of React and modern CSS
- WCAG 2.2 AA fluency, including colorblind-safe severity palettes and status color that does not rely on hue alone
- Comfort designing for expert users who want density, keyboard shortcuts, and minimal hand-holding
What You’ll Design

How You’ll Work
- Run usability sessions with practicing network operators to validate concepts before building (BE Networks will help identify participants)
- Design within a two-week sprint cadence alongside engineering, avoiding long lead-time design
- Translate engineering intent and operator needs into design specs, including shaping work due to no PM
- Deliver handoff assets in Figma, Claude Design (or similar tools), plus enough React and CSS guidance for correct implementation

Nice to Have
- Experience in observability, monitoring, or network management tooling (vendor, internal platform team, or industrial/SCADA HMI)
- Familiarity with datacenter networking concepts such as leaf-spine fabrics, link aggregation, multi-tenancy, and network virtualization
- Experience designing UI for AI or agentic systems, especially around explainability, confidence, and approval boundaries
- Experience building a design system within a small engineering team
