Senior Product Designer

Join Microsoft’s CoreAI organization to design end-to-end, AI-powered agentic product experiences. This onsite role in Mountain View, CA pairs strong product design fundamentals with hands-on prototyping, engineering fluency, and cross-functional collaboration to help shape how people interact with emerging AI capabilities.

Compensation: USD 119,800 - 261,000 per year. Base pay range may vary by location, with a typical U.S. range of USD 119,800 - 234,700 and different ranges for the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metro area of USD 160,200 - 261,000.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with PM, Engineering, Research, and Data Science partners to define and deliver product experiences from concept through launch
• Partner with engineers throughout implementation to refine interactions, validate quality, and ensure design intent is reflected in the final product
• Use working knowledge of front-end technologies, developer tooling, and modern prototyping to accelerate exploration and strengthen collaboration
• Navigate ambiguity to help set product direction as customer needs, UX patterns, and technology capabilities continue to evolve
• Rapidly explore emerging AI capabilities through prototyping, experimentation, and hands-on making to validate concepts and uncover new UX opportunities
• Create design artifacts across fidelity levels, including user flows, wireframes, journey maps, prototypes, high-fidelity visuals, and redlines using Figma, Vercel, and other AI-powered prototyping tools
• Contribute to the use and adoption of design systems, patterns, and guidelines to support scalable and consistent experiences
• Translate user insights and feedback into design solutions with a focus on accessibility and inclusivity
• Support a positive, inclusive, growth-oriented team culture, including mentoring newer teammates and creating clarity for the broader team

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, HCI, UX, Interaction Design, or a related field, plus 5+ years of experience in product or service design
• OR Master’s degree in a related field plus 4+ years experience in product or service design
• OR equivalent practical experience
• 1+ years applying AI domain knowledge (including generative AI and AI agents) to real-world product or service design, with understanding of agentic experiences, constraints, and seamless integration into user experiences
• 3+ years technical engineering experience, familiarity with HTML, CSS, JS/TS, Python, and comfort with React and/or Web Components
• 5+ years experience in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with examples of high-quality design artifacts
• 3+ years end-to-end design process experience, including shipping products or delivering services to customers
• 3+ years experience contributing to or maintaining a design system
• 4+ years demonstrating strong collaboration skills across disciplines (Design, PM, Engineering, Research)
