Remote Web Designer / UI Designer

Coalition Technologies is hiring a Remote Web Designer / UI Designer to support client projects across web design, brand assets, and design systems. This role is focused on creating polished, developer-ready deliverables for both desktop and mobile, while collaborating closely with production, copy, SEO, and development teams.

What you’ll do

• Design custom, client-specific logos, brand guides, and design systems from scratch
• Create wireframes, website mockups, and supporting web graphics for desktop and mobile
• Develop designs aligned to creative briefs, client objectives, and provided project materials
• Produce vector icons and other illustrations
• Participate in client meetings and contribute design feedback as needed
• Work with Digital Producers to plan how to achieve client goals through effective, appropriate design
• Collaborate with copywriters, SEO team members, developers, and other teams to shape and refine the project vision
• Evaluate tradeoffs across usability, visual design, accessibility, and performance needs
• Prepare clean, organized design files for proper handoff to developers
• Deliver projects on schedule while following Coalition Technologies’ methodology and quality standards

Core skills and experience

• Strong mastery of Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro
• Passion for design with a solid understanding of core design concepts and fundamentals
• Familiarity with web accessibility requirements
• A portfolio that demonstrates website design experience
• Interest in ongoing learning and staying current with the design industry
• Experience presenting materials to clients in a professional manner
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet short deadlines
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time
• Reliable remote workstation setup, including a fast computer, microphone, speakers, reliable internet, and reliable power

Compensation and location

This position is remote from California. For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay ranges from $17 to $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the role. For candidates outside those locations, compensation may fall outside the listed range.

Additional preferences
