Product Designer- Boys Sweaters and Wovens
Job Description
In this Product Designer role, you will help shape product direction for Target-owned brands and/or categories focused on boys sweaters and wovens. You will guide design concepts from early research through development, working closely with technical partners and sourcing resources to resolve product issues while keeping creative direction aligned with merchant strategy.
What you’ll do
- Support and take ownership of product design work for assigned owned brand product brands and/or categories, aligned to overall product design strategy and merchant objectives.
- Work under the direction of Design leadership on an assigned category, brand, business, or guest segment, managing your own process and calendar.
- Maintain a consistent approach to workload and timing, including clear, timely communication with internal and external partners.
- Drive concepts through development, including research, material and finish selection, and development of silhouettes and form language.
- Translate product direction using CAD and hand sketches.
- Create professional presentation boards that include illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication details, and material samples.
- Support and refine designs to maintain alignment with creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points.
- Build brand cohesion by partnering across the division to support continuity.
- Collaborate with technical designers, engineers, and sourcing partners to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues.
Required qualifications
- Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Experience with CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
- Knowledge of textiles, garment construction and fit, or raw materials and product production.
- Experience assimilating product feedback.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in a retail or product development environment.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions.

Compensation
$73,000 - $132,000 per year.
Location and work model
Minneapolis, MN (onsite).
Work restriction: Team members in the Target General Merch Inc Operating Company are prohibited from working more than thirty (30) days per calendar month. If hired, you will be prohibited from working remotely from any of the states listed above for more than thirty (30) days per calendar year.
