Product Designer

Designs Direct Creative Group is hiring a Product Designer to create original artwork and decorative home product designs. This hybrid role in Covington, KY blends creative development with technical product requirements, giving you the chance to refine concepts through customer feedback, revision cycles, and approval with internal and overseas teams.

What you will do

• Create product designs that align with project requirements, customer needs, and product specifications.
• Develop artwork and image designs for product applications based on customer direction and industry trends.
• Maintain detailed, accurate product specifications and design information throughout development.
• Meet directly with customers to present concepts, discuss designs, and incorporate feedback.
• Coordinate with overseas teams to support product sampling, pricing, and design details.
• Collaborate through the revision and approval process, updating designs until final approval.
• Use AI and design tools to explore concepts, support creativity, and improve efficiency.
• Assist with other related projects and responsibilities as needed.

Skills and qualifications

• Strong artistic and design skills, with the ability to produce commercially relevant artwork and product designs.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Familiarity with AI design tools such as Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or similar programs is highly desirable.
• Ability to translate customer needs, feedback, deadlines, and specifications into finished designs.
• Strong organization and attention to detail to maintain accurate product and design information.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills for direct customer collaboration and cross-team work.
• Time-management and planning skills to complete accurate work on schedule with minimal supervision.
• Ability to manage individual responsibilities, collaborate, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Comfort with basic math, fractions, and ruler measurements related to product specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and experience

• Degree, major, or significant coursework in Graphic Design or a related discipline is highly preferred.
• Relevant design experience is preferred, and candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
• Fine art skills, including illustration and painting, are an asset.

Physical requirements

• Ability to work at a desk and use a computer for extended periods, approximately 7+ hours daily.
• Ability to stand for 1–3 hours as needed and lift up to 20 pounds periodically.
• Local travel and, periodically, longer distances with overnight stays for trade shows or customer meetings.
• May be exposed to odors from paints and chemicals where masks may be required.
