Product Designer

Walinga USA Inc offers a full-time onsite product design role in Wayland, MI, with competitive hourly pay of $26.00 to $33.00. You will contribute to mechanical systems and structures for feed trailers and pneumatic conveying equipment, working closely with Sales and manufacturing to align design decisions with customer requirements.

What you’ll be doing

As a Product Designer, you will handle design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and structures used in feed trailers and pneumatic conveying systems. Your work supports equipment performance from early requirements through production use.

• Complete designs for major projects end to end
• Create designs and drawings that production staff use directly
• Complete calculations and analysis on equipment as required
• Coordinate with Sales and Production staff across the ETE and PCS divisions to develop equipment that meets and exceeds customer requirements
• Produce technical documents to alert production, sales, and service teams about upcoming changes
• Help reduce overhead by improving production efficiency through effective design

Qualifications

• 1+ years of mechanical design experience
• Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design, specifically PTC Creo or similar tools
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork and external stakeholder interaction
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on high-quality mechanical designs that meet customer expectations

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or manufacturing engineering) or an Engineering Technologist diploma.
