Job Description

Instagram offers a high impact design leadership role that shapes experiences across the platform. In this Product Designer position, you will influence end-to-end product development from ideation through launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure craft and usability for our 2 billion+ users. This onsite opportunity in Menlo Park reflects a culture that values rigorous design, thoughtful collaboration, and meaningful impact at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver design initiatives that span large or ambiguous scopes across the Instagram product family.
  • Turn broad, conceptual ideas into practical experiences used by billions of users.
  • Create flows and interfaces that simplify complex actions into intuitive, usable experiences.
  • Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and define visual systems.
  • Explore AI driven opportunities to enable new capabilities, personalization, or value for users.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions about the future direction of Instagram products.
  • Provide and receive feedback within the design and product teams to raise quality, while mentoring others.
  • Lead cross-functional partnerships with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to supervise the user experience from concept to launch.
  • Champion design craft and uplift the team's work by influencing how others design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of product design experience with demonstrated impact on consumer products at scale
  • A portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-surface product experiences
  • Experience leading end-to-end development efforts, driving progress with Cross Functional Partner teams, developing design roadmaps, and making high-impact decisions balancing user needs with business growth objectives
  • Expertise in advanced prototyping techniques, such as creating functional prototypes or using emerging technologies
  • Comfort with data, using metrics, research, and experimentation to inform and validate design decisions
