Job Description
Athena Global Advisors offers a Motion Designer role within our Creative Team in a hybrid Philadelphia, PA setting. You will craft video and motion assets for a Fortune 30 brand across multiple platforms and experiences, collaborating with in-house resources to ideate and deliver compelling work at pace. This position emphasizes creative exploration within a strong brand framework, delivering measurable impact through visually engaging storytelling.

Responsibilities
- Create visually compelling video and motion assets.
- Ideate quickly and execute a high volume of engaging content across multiple platforms and experiences, primarily using in-house resources.
- Reimagine existing creative assets, b-roll, and photography to meet different needs and tell fresh stories.
- Edit video and produce animated assets.
- Participate in creative brainstorms, kick-offs, and reviews, contributing meaningful ideas.
- Bring a post-production perspective to shoots.
- Storyboard and design assets as needed.
- Help define and evolve the brand motion style guide, pushing creative boundaries while preserving visual standards.
- Understand the brand goals, strategy, and tone of voice.
- Follow the direction of creative leadership on best practices, ideation, and execution.
- Mentor junior team members to elevate the brand and maintain consistency.
- Create content that makes measurable connections with target audiences.
- Leverage performance metrics and insights to influence ideation and execution.
- Stay current with brand and design trends to optimize performance.
- Collaborate with teammates or work solo on rapid-fire requests, tight timelines, and longer-term projects.
- Contribute to a positive work environment that celebrates everyone’s success.
- Share design references and inspiration to raise the quality of the work.
Requirements
- Experience creating well-crafted visual assets in-house or at an agency.
- 8+ years of motion design, animation, and video editing, with a strong portfolio of video and motion work.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Firefly.
- Working knowledge of Figma, photography (mobile and DSLR), photo retouching, and photo editing.
- Nice to have: experience with 3D programs such as Blender or Cinema 4D.
- Nice to have: experience building and managing motion branding and a motion design system.
- A self-starter who can develop animation from ideation to execution.
- Ability to produce content quickly with extreme attention to detail.
- A collaborative attitude, able to take feedback and stay calm under pressure.
- Cultural savviness and an awareness of trends that enhance work.
