Job Description

Location

Based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, with remote-friendly options across the United States. For hires in Minneapolis or Washington, DC, in-office presence is required a minimum of four days per week.

Compensation

Salary: USD 112,700 - 193,200 per year

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product management, fellow designers, data and analytics, and engineering during discovery and requirements sessions.
  • Contribute to strategy and roadmap planning.
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI into discovery, design workflows, research synthesis, prototyping, and delivery to boost speed, quality, and team effectiveness.
  • Develop design artifacts grounded in analytics, user research, and best practices.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to explore directions, generate and compare alternatives, summarize research inputs, and accelerate early-stage artifacts while applying human judgment and validation before recommendations are finalized.
  • Ideate and present multiple design solutions.
  • Regularly share work and refine designs based on feedback received.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to others.
  • When delivering final UI, define layout, typography, colors, and spacing in alignment with branding; source images, icons, or videos as needed.
  • Present clearly about the problem, user access points, and user progression through the experience.
  • Manage timelines, milestones, and internal processes to ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Understand and apply client design patterns appropriately.
  • Support research efforts by preparing and building prototypes for user testing.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and compliance to design AI-enabled experiences that are transparent, explainable, accessible, and aligned with responsible AI, privacy, security, and healthcare risk considerations.
  • Use market insights to understand customer needs and identify opportunities to improve offerings.
  • Support user research initiatives (interviews, focus groups, surveys) by organizing, planning, and executing to inform designs and guide strategy.
  • Nurture client relationships and support business development efforts.
  • Develop knowledge in emerging technologies and enhance team operational practices.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools, design accelerators, and workflow improvements, integrating them into team models without compromising quality, branding, accessibility, or trust.
  • Translate ambiguous business, user, and technical needs into design recommendations, including scenarios where AI or automation may influence the UX.
  • Identify industry trends early and apply them to design practice.
  • Lead projects, develop strategies, and manage change.
  • Support sales opportunities and proposal development discussions in partnership with leadership.
  • Create user personas, journey maps, and other artifacts to communicate research findings.
  • Conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability tests to gather insights on user needs and behaviors.
  • Be accountable for delivering performance against expectations and MBO goals.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Develop reusable AI prompts, templates, design review checklists, and documentation practices to enable teams to use AI consistently, responsibly, and efficiently across engagements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of digital design experience with a portfolio demonstrating expertise across web and mobile platforms.
  • 5+ years delivering user-centered design solutions that meet business objectives.
  • 5+ years translating concepts into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • 5+ years using design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar software.
  • 3+ years operating within an agile delivery model.
  • 3+ years designing and executing research strategies.
  • 1+ year of experience with AI-enabled design, research, content, or productivity tools, with demonstrated impact on speeding UX work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating prompt libraries, reusable AI workflow patterns, or team enablement materials to help others apply AI tools consistently and effectively
  • Experience or certification in Design Thinking, Human-centered design, PMP, Six Sigma, Change management, or SAFe
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices
